It’s time to take out your pencil cases and expand your minds with another little educational article in our “Dictionary of Hentai” series. This week is brought to you by the letter B. Enjoy!

Bitch

Technically “bicchi” in Japanese, but you may be wondering why I think it’s necessary to explain an English word in a dictionary of hentai terms. Well, much like the range of acceptable pizza toppings, the meanings of English words can be quite different in Japan. While in the West “bitch” is most commonly used as an insult against a woman deemed to be annoying, nasty or otherwise unpleasant, in Japanese it somehow came to just mean “slut”. Go figure.

If you want some examples of “bitch” behavior in hentai, you can do a lot worse than Slut Life, which is all about a new girl at school who’ll do anything to fit in.

Bukkake

One of those terms that has successfully made it out of Japan, bukkake refers to (as if I needed to tell you) spraying jizz over someone’s body. The word originally comes from the verb “bukkakeru”, itself a modified form of “kakeru”, meaning (among other things), “to sprinkle” or “to pour”. The “bu” prefix adds force to the verb, so instead of a sprinkle, imagine shooting or spraying with force. If you’re visiting Japan, you may be surprised to see “bukkake udon” on the menu at a traditional eatery, but it’s only dashi (soup stock) poured on top, so no worries about the chef unzipping his fly at the table.

Bukkake shows up in so many games and manga it’s hard to give a recommendation, but check out Karryn’s Prison for a good dose of white cream on white flesh.

Bokukko

Next is a term you may be less familiar with in “bokukko”. The “ko” part of the word means “girl” (as also found in the expression “otoko no ko”), while “boku” is form of first-person pronoun often used by young boys. A “bokukko” is a girl who refers to herself using “boku” for “I”, instead of “watashi”, which is the more common pronoun for girls and women. A girl who uses “boku” may be somewhat rebellious, or have a tomboyish personality.

Since bokukko are all about the personality, that’s best understood through an audio work. Have a listen to [100 Yen Pussy] VS Languid Loli Gamer Girl! which is about a low-energy bokukko you meet at an arcade, who offers to pay you back for lending her 100 yen…with her body.

Bonyu

Formed from the kanji for “mother” and “milk”, “bonyu” , unsurprisingly, means “mother’s milk”, or “breastmilk”. It commonly shows up in hentai about loving, lactating MILFs coddling shotas, or grown men into infantilization. It’s also found in hentai focused on impregnation and pregnant women, or in fantasy or sci-fi works where lactation is induced through unnatural means such as with magic or drugs.

Botebara

We’re in similar territory with our next word, “botebara”. Coming from the words “botetto” meaning “plumply” and “hara/bara” meaning “stomach”, the term refers to a swollen belly. Naturally, this is closely linked with pregnancy, just like “bonyuu”, but is also used when the belly is swollen for other reasons, due to being filled with…liquid, say. The word therefore encompasses both the more traditional pregnant woman fetish and some more leftfield body modification fetishes. It’s a very accommodating genre, just as much as the bellies for which it is named.

For further study, I have this lined up for you: Hazumi and the Pregnation. As the title suggests, impregnation is baked into the concept, and you can see various degrees of botebara as the heroine’s pregnancy progresses.
